Direct Billing for Extended Health Benefits

Coverage Under your Benefits Plan

Please note that some (or all) of your massage therapy treatment may be covered by your private medical insurance plan. Check with your benefits provider if you are unsure of your coverage for massage. When scheduling massage therapy with The L Spa and Wellness Centre request a Registered Massage Therapist as Spa Practitioner therapies are not eligible for coverage.

Prescriptions

The L Spa and Wellness Centre does not require a prescription from your doctor to direct bill your treatment. However, a small fraction of private medical insurance plans require a physician’s prescription on their file to release funds. You do not need to be injured to get a prescription from your physician. Massage therapy is used as an effective form of stress management, and for maintenance of optimal muscle function. Your doctor will be happy to provide you with a prescription if your insurer requires it.

Direct Billing

We offer direct billing for most major insurers. By billing the insurer directly, we can eliminate your insurance claim paperwork, and reduce your out-of-pocket expense.

Direct Billing Forms

We request that you arrive 20 to 30 minutes prior to your appointment to fill out the required paperwork if you wish to have us direct bill your treatment.

Please be Advised

We rely on a third-party system to handle our direct billing of services. From time-to-time, the system may encounter errors or other service issues beyond our control. For this reason, you must always be prepared to pay for your treatment at the time of service completion as we may not be able to process your treatment with your insurer (due to circumstances beyond our control).

It is possible that errors can be made in the direct billing process. While these issues are rare, The L Spa and Wellness Centre will happily correct such errors when they are brought to our attention.

You are always welcome to submit treatment receipts to your insurer instead of relying on the direct billing system.
